Before setting up Altru in 2005, Kate worked as a teacher at Knowsley Community College and Playworker for Liverpool Youth Service. She has a degree in English and Cultural History and PGCE, both from Liverpool John Moore, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Theatre from Central School of Speech and Drama.
Kate has worked on a huge range of Altru projects over the last 18 years and is the company’s main writer and creative lead.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading and going on long walks.

After graduating from Cumbria Institute of the Arts with a Joint Honours Degree in Drama and Musical Theatre, Dan embarked on a career as an actor, performer and entertainer, before becoming a drama tutor and practitioner.
In 2016, Dan joined the Altru team as an actor practitioner and moved into the Altru office in 2018 as Schools’ Relationship Manager and in 2020 became Altru’s General Manager. Dan spends his days liaising with teachers to meticulously organise Altru workshops and performance visits.
In his spare time, he enjoys writing, reading and playing Pokemon Go!

Barry trained initially as an actor, graduating from LJMU with a degree in drama. He joined Altru in 2014 working as a practitioner and actor before becoming our Production Manager in 2017.
Barry directs our plays, builds sets, edits music & casts our productions. He's also very involved in writing scripts for bespoke projects. In his spare time he enjoys Dj-ing, writing poetry and following Liverpool Football Club!

Lily graduated from Uclan in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts with Hons in Acting. Since then, Lily achieved her PGCE as a drama teacher and taught at Liverpool College Secondary School before landing her dream job as part of the Altru Team. Lily is also a Singer/Songwriter and spends her spare time performing around the North-West and writing with other artists. Lily enjoys recording her original music which has caught the attention of multiple presenters, leading to her songs featuring on various radio stations.
Lily supports our core and associate teams; allocating staff to projects, planning workshops and keeping up to date with educational initiatives.
