Monday Round Up!

At this time of year, we do a lot of work with Year 6 and work with them on the topic of transition. Our Transition Play in a Day was out a couple of times last week as well as Eyes Open still being out on tour which was also created to coincide and to help aid with transition.

We were in St Mary’s in Wigan and St George’s Primary in Sefton and both days were thoroughly enjoyed by all involved! It’s a really fun play and is aimed at making the children more at ease with their new journey ahead as well as discusses some of their worries and fears. Good luck to all the year 6s we’ve worked with!

Monday was the beginning of rehearsals for our creative literacy project, In Our Own Words. There was rapping about robots, singing about elephants and narrating the tale of the waffle queen! The stories will be performed exactly word for word the way the children have written them, you can’t beat children’s writing and we’ve been blown away by their imaginations. The team cannot wait to perform the show for the children and their parents and teachers next week in the Brindley Theatre in Runcorn!

We also had a brand new Olympics Play in a Day out this week. The play focuses on the history of the Olympics, when it started and what countries were initially involved. Just working on this topic has got us majorly excited for the Olympics in Rio! We can’t wait until August!

Ady delivered some dance workshops in Castlehill Primary, Bolton to Year 6, who impressed us all with their moves! We’ve been working with Castlehill every week for four weeks now, there will be twelve sessions altogether, which will end in a leavers performance at the end of term.

Ahoy matey! Tash and Ed were busy being Pirates with Year 3 in Middleton Parish on Thursday & Friday, a play in a day that always proves popular. Who doesn’t enjoy dressing up as a pirate?!

That’s it for this week, tune in next week for more news about what we’ve been up to!
