It’s been a busy summer for us so far, as we’ve taken the plunge and moved to a new building in Garston, Liverpool. When I say new building I mean, of course, a new building for us – the building itself is exceptionally old and has, in years gone by, had a variety of uses including, we think, a butchers and a nightclub!
We’d been at The Old Schoolhouse in Huyton for almost 8 years and so we’d accumulated both a lot of stuff and a lot of memories in that time. We will always have fond memories of The Old Schoolhouse and wish the next tenants of our office loads of success. And, of course, we’re leaving Knowsley behind but the area will always be part of our priorities at Altru, ensuring young people in the area have the best opportunities and access to arts.
And now it’s on to the next chapter. The move took place across a week (big thanks to our painting and moving teams – our staff team really are the best!) The new office is taking shape and we’ve now got bags of space to host rehearsals, meetings and training – we’ve gone from one room to a whole building! By mid-September we’ll have 3 rooms which will be available for hire on an hourly, daily and/or weekly basis – more details to follow soon. We’re hoping to get the whole building buzzing with creative activity in the coming months.
If you’d like to pop in and see the new space, give us a call – our number will remain the same. Our new address is:
6 Seddon Road, Garston, Liverpool, L19 2LJ
That’s all for now – we’re off to unpack more costume! Wish us luck!
