Home School Workshops History Anglo Saxons

Anglo Saxons

Bring this exciting period of British History to life through a drama workshop all about the Anglo Saxons. Your pupils will learn about the invasions, settlements and kingdoms as well as exploring Anglo Saxon village life, the hierarchies and, of course, royalty from the period.

If you are learning about the Anglo Saxons with your class, then a drama workshops gives pupils the chance to explore the way people lived, the way they were ruled, and the changes that took place in the lead up to the Batlle of Hastings in 1066.

Through fun and interactive drama workshop activities, children are excited to learn more about the period, and the practical elements of the session mean the knowledge gained is memorable and meaningful.

Getting the best out of your Anglo Saxons drama workshop

Our workshops need to take place in the school hall ideally, securing this space for the day of the workshop will help it run really smoothly (we can absolutely move into a classroom for lunchtime set up if needed)
Make sure a teacher or TA will be present in the workshop to support the pupils and help us understand their needs.
If you would like pupils to dress up we are happy for you to do this! We don’t provide costumes (as we don’t feel they are needed for the learning to take place) but we can always help with ideas of what to wear if you want to do this.
