This performance and workshop – part of our Challenging Choices programme – gives young people the chance to consider what makes a healthy relationship and explore the danger signs of an unhealthy relationship and coercive control through a fictional character’s story.
Cara is delighted when Liam shows an interest in her, introducing her to his mum and calling her his girlfriend after their first date. But Liam is different when they’re on their own and the demands he puts on Cara have isolated her from her friends and changed her behaviour. And now he’s asked her to keep a package at her house and the police have turned up and Cara is struggling to remember why she liked Liam in the first place.
This performance, delivered by a single actor, is part of a one hour / 90 minute session which helps young people explore healthy relationships and consider the warning signs of unhealthy habits and controlling behaviour.
The session can be repeated up to 6 times each day in a school.
