Online Safety & Sexting

This Challenging Choices performance and workshop helps young people develop their understanding and opinions about online safety, with a specific focus on sexting and sharing indecent images.

Sam is upset – he’s been going out with Kayley for a couple of months and things have been going great. But the lads are on his back about her, making fun of him and calling him names. They say that if she really likes him she’ll send him a picture of her. Sam just wants to shut them up, but he doesn’t think about the consequences for Kayley or himself.

This performance, delivered by a single actor, is part of a one hour / 90 minute session exploring issues around sexting, sharing explicit images and healthy relationships. The audience watch the performance and, afterwards, take part in discussion-based activities, led by our experienced team of actor educators who create a safe space for discussion and are able to refer young people to additional sources of support.

The workshop offers practical advice to young people about the moral and legal consequences of sharing indecent images in a non-judgemental and supportive way through creativity and the use of a fictional character which creates a safe space for discussion, debate, and reflection.
