Online Safety & Wellbeing

The online world is constantly evolving and changing, and it can be hard to keep up with the latest apps and games your pupils are using. If you feel that your pupils would benefit from exploring Online Safety, then a drama workshop is a fantastic way to help pupils learn and develop in a creative and non-judgemental environment.

Our workshops are always relevant to the apps and games children are using, and use drama activities and role play which allow children to explore tricky concepts and difficult scenarios imaginatively and reflectively.

Through specially planned drama activities, children will also develop confidence, self-esteem, communication, and team-work skills, which will feed into their view of themselves and to the choices they make both in person and online.

Topics covered

When you book an Online Safety & Wellbeing drama workshop we will ask you about the key topics you’d like us to explore to tailor your workshop to your needs. We will also always ensure your pupils learn the following areas of the RSE & Health Education guidance:
Online relationships, including how people sometimes behave differently online and that the same principles apply to online and face-to-face relationships.
Respectful relationships, including the importance of respecting others as well as self-respect and respectful boundaries both in person and online.
Being safe, including the risks of communicating with/meeting people they do not know and how information and data is shared online and the steps they can take as individuals to safeguard themselves.
Mental wellbeingincluding the benefits of physical exercise and time outdoors, away from devices, on mental wellbeing.
Internet safety & harms, including age restrictions on social media and games, the positive and negative aspects of the internet and how to consider the effects of their online actions on others.
Where and how to report concerns and get advice for issues online.
All of our workshops are completely inclusive, so all children can get involved and achieve.

Please note, we do not offer an Online Safety Learn and Perform for Key Stage 1.

Getting the best out of your Online Safety & Wellbeing drama workshop

Our workshops need to take place in the school hall ideally, securing this space for the day of the workshop will help it run really smoothly (we can absolutely move into a classroom for lunchtime set up if needed)
Make sure a teacher or TA will be present in the workshop to support the pupils and help us understand their needs.
If you would like pupils to dress up we are happy for you to do this! We don’t provide costumes (as we don’t feel they are needed for the learning to take place) but we can always help with ideas of what to wear if you want to do this.
