The Plague

Take your pupils back to 1665 and the Great Plague, giving them a chance to explore the feelings and opinions of people at the time and learn about life in the 1600s.

A drama workshop exploring The Plague can be a great way to bring this distant, yet important, piece of history to life for pupils. Our workshop allows them to step into the shoes of people of the time and, as well as learning key dates and figures, consider what life was like for ordinary people and compare that to life today.

Our workshops use creativity and fun to engage and inspire pupils, building their confidence in the topic and in their own abilities. And because the session is practical and engaging, it is memorable for pupils and learning is retained.

Getting the best out of your The Plague drama workshop

Our workshops need to take place in the school hall ideally, securing this space for the day of the workshop will help it run really smoothly (we can absolutely move into a classroom for lunchtime set up if needed)
Make sure a teacher or TA will be present in the workshop to support the pupils and help us understand their needs.
If you would like pupils to dress up we are happy for you to do this! We don’t provide costumes (as we don’t feel they are needed for the learning to take place) but we can always help with ideas of what to wear if you want to do this.
