Under the Sea

Support your pupils learning with a fun and fantastical drama workshop exploring the sea and the creatures who live in it. This workshop is designed to help pupils learn about Living Things and Their Habitats, with a focus on a range of sea creatures and their different categorisations, needs and habitats.

If you are learning about Living Things and Their Habitats with your pupils, then a drama workshop is the ideal way to introduce and explore new concepts through creativity and play. Our Under the Sea workshops use puppets to help children in Ke Stage 1 explore and learn whilst having lots of fun and developing their imaginations.

Our workshops use engaging and interactive drama activities which help pupils develop their subject knowledge whilst building confidence and speaking and listening skills.

When you book an Under the Sea drama workshop, your pupils will learn about the following areas of the science curriculum:

The names of a range of fish, amphibians, and reptiles.

The habitats of living creatures,

specifically those under water.

The basic needs of a range of different creatures for survival.

The different oceans across the planet

and their individual features and qualities.

How animals obtain food

and the idea of a food chain.

How humans travel from place to place,

and how this differs from the way animals travel
All of our workshops are completely inclusive, so all children can get involved and achieve.

For a single class

Book a Learn and Perform Day

For one class of up to 35 children
The class spend all day with the practitioner, working on the topic and at the end of the day perform their play to an audience.
A great way to help children learn about the topic and develop their confidence, speaking & listening, and team-work skills.

Book an Explore Day

For up to 4 classes of 35 children in a day
Each class receives a workshop of 60-120 minutes
A fast-paced workshop for each class with lots of memorable and engaging drama activities
A great way to help children explore the topic whilst developing their confidence, imagination and passion for learning.

Getting the best out of your Under the Sea drama workshop

Our workshops need to take place in the school hall ideally, securing this space for the day of the workshop will help it run really smoothly (we can absolutely move into a classroom for lunchtime set up if needed)
Make sure a teacher or TA will be present in the workshop to support the pupils and help us understand their needs.
If you would like pupils to dress up we are happy for you to do this! We don’t provide costumes (as we don’t feel they are needed for the learning to take place) but we can always help with ideas of what to wear if you want to do this.
