World Book Day

Each World Book Day we visit schools with exciting, engaging workshops that bring books, stories and characters to life for children.

Our workshops offer fun and creative ways to explore a range of books, all while building confidence and developing a range of transferable skills including speaking and listening, team work, and problem solving.

Drama is a great way to excite and inspire children, and our World Book Day workshops specifically focus on encouraging a love of reading for pleasure, in line with World Book Day objectives.

When you book a World Book Day drama workshop, your pupils will:

Learn about famous authors and their stories.

Explore the wild and wonderful locations in which books can be set.

Discover exciting characters – and have a go at playing them!

Expand their imaginations through creativity.

Build their speaking, listening and confidence skills through role play and performance.

All of our workshops are completely inclusive, so all children can get involved and achieve.

For multiple classes

Book an Explore Day

For up to 6 classes of 35 children in a day
Each class receives a workshop of 45 - 60 minutes
A fast-paced workshop for each class with lots of memorable and engaging drama activities
A great way to help children explore the topic whilst developing their confidence, imagination and passion for learning.

Getting the best out of your World Book Day drama workshop

Our workshops need to take place in the school hall ideally, securing this space for the day of the workshop will help it run really smoothly (we can absolutely move into a classroom for lunchtime set up if needed)
Make sure a teacher or TA will be present in the workshop to support the pupils and help us understand their needs.
If you would like pupils to dress up we are happy for you to do this! We don’t provide costumes (as we don’t feel they are needed for the learning to take place) but we can always help with ideas of what to wear if you want to do this.
