A lovely new performance of the classic tale, packed with fun, original songs, live music and audience interaction.
Albert Peddler can sell anything - anything that is except books! He thinks they're boring and rubbish - but Robyn knows better and she takes him on a journey through the story of Rumpelstiltskin to prove just how exciting books can be.
Rumpelstiltskin is performed by two actors, with live original music, audience participation and all the joy and theatrical quality you’d expect from an Altru performance. And, of course, the show using the book and original text throughout to encourage creativity and reading for pleasure.

The performance is 40 minutes long and suitable for the whole family or for a school audience size of 230 pupils.
We are excited to offer this performance to libraries and community venues and have evening and weekend performance slots available.
In schools there is also the option for the performance to include an interactive workshop which will support children's literacy skills as well as their creativity, speaking and listening and oracy.

Is the play suitable for everyone in school?
Yes – everyone from Nursery to Year 6. The performance can be watched by up to 230 children at a time. If you book the interactive workshop, the audience size will need to be smaller.
How long does the play last?
40 minute performance.
How long do you need to set up?
The team need around 25 minutes in the hall to set up. In the afternoon, we are happy to do this at one end of the hall, while lunchtime is still being cleaned up.
Do school need to provide anything?
All we need is the hall and an audience. We bring everything else!
Are staff DBS checked?
Absolutely. All Altru staff have enhanced disclosures which can be sent to you prior to the show and the team will have them with them on the day.
Are the team professional actors?
They are indeed! We only work with professional actors who are used to touring schools and engaging children in theatre.
Do you have insurance?
We do. We have 5 million Public Liability Insurance. A copy of our insurance certificate is always with the acting team for you to view in school.
Can we make a provisional booking?
We can hold a date for you for 24 hours, so that you have time to check the date with everyone in school.
We are a big school – can we have 2 or 3 performances in one day?
