November is fast approaching and that can only mean one thing – we are mega busy and loving it! We have five tours – three anti-bullying and two Christmas shows – to prepare for so it’s all go in Altru HQ!
Last week we had our training day for the three anti-bullying casts which was exciting and a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. We went through a lot of tea & biscuits and all in all was a very successful and productive day. We love getting to know new staff!
Superhero School, our newest anti-bullying show had a research and development day and the team came up with some extraordinary ideas. The show is going to be very fun as well as informative and we think it might just be one of our best yet!
Our after school club in Prescot Primary is going so well and the numbers are increasing every week. Each week someone brings a friend or two along with them which is lovely. Kerry has decided to work on a Christmas performance with them and is working on some ideas around short stories.
Tamsin and Tash were out and about on Thursday delivering History play in a days – WW2 and Stone Age to Iron Age. The history topics are always popular and these two have great costume boxes. Wendy May, the class teacher from Millbrook Primary School, who worked on Stone Age to Iron Age with Tamsin give the day 10 out of 10 and had this to say:
“Brilliant day, thank you! It has given the children an opportunity to share what they have learnt whilst having fun with drama. Children were engaged and challenged and improved speech and language and voice projection.”
Emma Riley, Deputy Head of Castleway Primary, was working with Tash and Year 5 on WW2. She said:
“A wonderful day led by a wonderful teacher! The speaking and listening and active learning helps the children retain new information. It brings history alive! Lots of new WW2 facts, drama games and it was a real confidence boost! Active, fun and informative. 10/10, thank-you.”
Lovely feedback from two lovely schools, we can’t wait to visit again!
Be sure to come back next Monday to see what we’ve been up to but if you can’t wait that long, check out our twitter page.
