A new format for Healthy Eating

Healthy Eating – in dramatic fashion

This summer term, we’re launching a brand-new Healthy Eating project which can engage a whole key stage in making and sharing a performance – in just 2 days!

Our drama practitioner will work with 4 classes, delivering exciting workshops all around the theme of Health Eating.  On day 1 each class will take part in an action-packed drama workshop where they will learn about food groups, balanced meals, vitamins and nutrients and the importance of exercise.  All learning is done through creativity and performance and links to the Statutory Guidance for Health Education at Primary level.

During each workshop the children will work on creating a short piece of theatre, which will help to spread the message about healthy eating.

On the morning of day 2 children will have the chance to perfect their performance – rehearsing with their director and introducing props, costume and music.

Then on the final afternoon all children work together in the hall to bring the performance together and, just before the end of the day, they perform their full play to Key Stage 1 and parents.
